We started by searching for the outgoing flight in Business Class from Austin to Mumbai. At $8,100 for a one-way flight this is looking like a pricey venture. We checked our airlines to see if we could find a better deal with points.
Our first search was on Delta. Ringing up at $8,108 this 95k flight is giving you $0.085 per point. Not a bad option but I think we can do better. So we searched the next airline.
Next we searched United where a $8,190 ticket at 85k points gives you $0.096 per point. Here we find that United is superior to Delta for a number of reasons. Firstly, you are using 10k fewer points, secondly, you are getting a return of $0.011 more on your points, your fees are less than half those on Delta, not to mention the fact that you arrive two hours earlier.

Next, we searched our return flight to Austin from Mumbai in Economy Class.
Next we searched United with its $1,006 ticket, your 42.5k are getting $0.024 per point. This United flight gives you a much better return than Delta. Although the flight time and associated fees are comparable with Delta, you realize a huge benefit because you are saving 187.5k points by flying United.
At the end of the day, United is the best option for both flight segments. For both flights you are using a total of 127.5k points per passenger.
