We found a number of flights between NYC to Europe. We selected two different locations in Italy as that is your preferred destination. This allows you to spend time in Italy at the head of your dream trip and rail through Europe before book-ending your trip in Italy.
We began our search with American Airlines. They are offering a Business Class flight from NYC to Europe with entry and exit through Italy, your preferred destination, for $5,500 converted to points, this trip will set you back 115k points plus an enormous $1,550 fee. This option is giving you $0.048 per point. Quite frankly, the fees for this option are so high and cost prohibitive we continued searching.
Next we found that Air France is offering a First Class flight through Venice for $4, 100. Translated to points, this is a 53k + €220 fees each way for your dream trip. This option is giving you $0.043 per point. Air France offers good service and this is a great points price, however, we found the fees are high so we kept searching for other options.
We searched United Airlines and discovered a $2,400 flight which converts to 66k points each way. This option is giving you $0.020 per point. While you use a few more points than the Air France option, you save tremendously in fees when comparing United’s minor $67 fees.
