Anna Kendrick is an American singer- actress who rose to international fame after performing in the movie “Up in the Air” as Natalie Keener for which she received Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She was nominated for a Tony Award after playing Dinah Lord in the Broadway musical “High Society”. Stacey Pilgrim in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Beca Mitchell in Pitch Perfect (2012) and Janet in End of Watch (2012) are some of her notable roles. She also acted as Cinderella in the new film “Into the Woods”.

Anna Kendrick was born in Portland, Maine. She a daughter of an accountant named Janice and a history teacher, William K. Kendrick. She is an English, Scottish and Irish descent.
At the age of 10, her career started when her parents supported her and drove her from Portland, Maine to New York City for auditions. Her first prominent role was on the Broadway musical High Society as Dinah when she was 12 years old, where she won a Theatre World Award and got nominated for a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award which makes her the third youngest nominee for a Tony Award. After that, she appeared in other several stage productions, including the musical A Little Night before making her debut film in 2003, Camp as Fritzi Wagner, which is a musical comedy where she became a nominee for Independent Spirit Award for Best Debut Performance.
Kendrick appeared in 2007 at the movie Rocket Science as Ginny Ryeson whom is a fast talking high school debater. Even though she found the role intimidating and challenging after watching an actual national championship debate, the critics gave her a positive review on her acting and she was nominated for an Independent Spirit award for Best Supporting actress. She auditioned for the role Jessica Stanley for the film adaptation of the best-selling book from Stephanie Meyer, Twilight, and got the role.
Because of her theater musical experience, it gave her an opportunity to act in The Mark Pease Experience in 2009 where she appears as an high school senior involved in the musical theater. She got her first lead role on the 2009 film, Elsewhere, and got to be a lead in Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air. Because of her role in the movie, the National Board of Review name her Best Supporting Actress and got nominations from critic awards like, The Golden Globes, The Screen Actors Guild and Academy Awards.
Later, she starred on the film Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, where she played as Stacey Pilgrim, the older sister of the lead character. In 2010. She appeared on the music video, Pow Pow, as a shape-shifter who collects the souls of wicked men. Later that year, she went to Mexico to attend the 2010 top Glamour Awards and won Best International Actress.
In 2012, she starred in the screen adaptation What to Expect When You’re Expecting as Rosie and became the voice actress of Courtney in the stop motion film ParaNorman. She acted as Beca in the movie Pitch Perfect and featured in the film’s soundtrack. In 2013, her song in the soundtrack of Pitch Perfect, “Cups (When I’m Gone), became the No. 2 Billboard’s Adult Pop Song chart.
She had her hosting debut in the show, Saturday Night Live (SNL), with their musical guest, Pharell during April 5, 2014.
Kendrick dated Edgar Wright, the director of the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, where they met during the movie production and dated until 2013. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
In 2014, she got another lead role in the movie, Into the Woods, where she played as Cinderella.
