There are few things better than an authentic Italian, and even fewer (if any) American cities that do Italian better than New York.
Olio e Piú (which translates to oil and more), should be next on your list of Italian joints to fine dine. Their margarita pizza is top notch, the cocktails will keep you ordering, and the ricotta bruschetta is literally mouthwatering.
We had heard through the grapevine that this was a place worth checking out, so we recently sat down for dinner, and we were damn glad we did.
We opted for the traditional margarita pizza and went with the gluten free crust (available for any pizza), and the filet mignon with truffle butter and truffle potato puree.
Both dishes tasted even better than they look.
Aside from the amazing food, the ambiance was perfect. They have a large outdoor seating area perfect for a nice fall evening, the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, and it’s hard to beat eating on the sidewalk in the West Village.
Olio e Piú is located at 3 Greenwich Ave. New York, NY, in the West Village (Greenwich between 6th and Christopher).
Get there before the temperature keeps you from enjoying the outdoor space. But don’t worry, even if you wait until November, they will still have some of the village’s best pizza on the inside.
