reMarkable2 Review: The New Apple Newton is Here!

Introducing the reMarkable 2: The Next-Generation Paper Tablet

Are you tired of lugging around a heavy backpack filled with notebooks and printed documents? Say goodbye to paper and hello to the reMarkable 2 – the ultimate paper tablet.

Feels like paper, acts like a superhero

The reMarkable 2 is like having a personal assistant for your notes and documents. It feels like a notepad, with the added bonus of making a satisfying noise as you write on it (ASMR for productivity, anyone?). But unlike a traditional notepad, the reMarkable 2 allows you to save, move, and erase your notes, and even has a searchable directory of all your thoughts. No more flipping through pages trying to find that one important note from a meeting three weeks ago.

Design

Let’s talk about the leather portfolio. It’s nice, but for an extra $50, I’d love to see that Apple-grade leather. But design flaws aside, using the reMarkable 2 is magical. I let my wife draw a sketch on it, and now she’s hooked too. It’s like Harry Potter’s magic quill, but for business meetings and grocery lists.

Features & Benefits

The reMarkable 2 has many features and benefits, such as the ability to convert your handwritten notes into text, organize and access your notes on all devices, take handwritten notes, read and review documents, take notes directly on PDFs, paper-like writing and reading, and integrate with Google Drive, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive. It also has a battery life of 2 weeks and it’s easy to import Microsoft Office files and web articles.

Usability

The reMarkable 2 is easy to use and feels magical when you start using it. You can bring it with you on all your trips and probably everywhere you go. It’s like having a personal assistant for your notes and documents.

The Setup

Setting up the reMarkable 2 took a while, like 2 hours. But trust me, it’s worth the wait. Updating the firmware once and then twice is a small price to pay for the magic that awaits you on the other side.

The Not-So-Perfect

I have a feeling battery life might be an issue for power users like me, but I’m sure they’ll solve that in v3. And let’s not forget about that leather portfolio. I’d pay $50 more for a higher grain leather like Apple uses.

Final thoughts

Overall, I highly recommend the reMarkable 2. It’s like having a personal assistant for your notes and documents. The reMarkable 2 is the solution to the age-old problem of how to market when a company’s target isn’t the average consumer, but is instead a single, senior decision maker. The next time you’re at a business meeting, trade in your notepad for the reMarkable 2 and watch as your colleagues’ jaws drop in amazement.

And if you’re still not convinced, there’s even a referral program (but I can’t hook you up with a code yet, stay tuned for my 100-day review
