Qatar has some amazing 1-stop flights to Bali, but the prices are quite intimidating, with pricing starting around $1,600 for economy. Let’s see what we can find if we use our points.
There is a 2-stop flight that gets us from PHL to DOH for just 37.5k American miles.
American has only one transfer partner, Marriott Bonvoy, so if you have the points in your mileage account, this is one of the cheapest ways to get to Bali for free.
But maybe there’s another option with less stops and from a carrier where it’s easier to get points?…
Since it’s really hard to get American miles, and British Airways is a transfer partner of both Amex and Chase, we wanted to see if we could find availability here.
Also, add in to the fact that there is only 1-stop on these flights make these flights a great option.
Getting AA miles is really tough, since they are only a transfer partner of Marriott Bonvoy, and Bonvoy doesn’t have any major bonus category cards. You can get 2x, 3x by spending on Marriott properties, but they don’t have anything along the lines of the Amex Gold that earns 4X on dining.
So the best way to get American miles is by signing up for credit cards, and this card below has a 50k welcome bonus after spending $5k in the first 3 months.
