SWIMS Fall/Winter ’14

SWIMS became a favorite of ours this summer with their beach-perfect rubberized loafers and style-forward attitude.  Their Fall/Winter 2014 line is just as on point, with some added bonuses.  We sat down with the man behind SWIMS, Johan Ringdal, and scoped out what they have to offer us for the cooler months ahead.  What we saw were parkas we loved, shoes we want on our feet, and a brand that is securing it’s place on the map more with each new season.

The SWIMS Outerwear

“We have tested and sculpted our parkas and jackets for about 5 years now–it takes time to make a truly great product. The collection consists of jackets fit for an urban lifestyle, with the most technical fabrics and production techniques available. This transcends into super comfortable products that are lightweight, breathable and waterproof. We offer a tailored fit paired with classic references that make these jackets wearable and desirable–qualities you don’t see very often when you’re working with a high level of technology.”

SWIMS Fall Footwear

“We do have our signature rubber in the shoes for this season as well, but I would say quite a bit less than the summer collection.  For the fall season, we want shoes to be softer, warmer and more elegant, but we still need the protection that rubber details provide.”

“We have based one of our shoe lines around inspiration from a New England-style moccasin, a shoe very close to a loafer, but with more of a rugged appeal. I’m thrilled with the final version of this shoe; it’s comfortable, functional and elegant at the same time.”

We Love the Fall Line, But What’s Next?

“…We have developed t-shirts, polos and swim shorts for the SS15 season and we will only be growing from there. The FW15 collection will include a line of interesting apparel that follows our identity and values.”

“We have [also] been making winter boots for some seasons, but mainly for the northern European market.”

Final Thoughts

“Our design team is stronger than ever and this collection feels very spot-on for SWIMS right now. The brand is growing quickly, and I think the international market will be able to see that in our new footwear offerings and our new range of outerwear.”

We couldn’t agree more, Johan.

Check out SWIMS current line, and keep your eyes out for the fall/winter collection.  This is definitely a brand that is here to stay, so get ahead of the masses and get your extra style points early.
