When it comes to shoes there are more options and designers than we could ever name, but some stick out to us more than others. Today we would like to introduce you to one of our favorite custom shoe brands, Left Shoe Company.
I was fortunate enough to meet the men behind the brand at their recent pop-up shop in NYC. After putting on their custom sock to help map my foot, I stood on the scanner to get a digital foot scan. In a matter of minutes the nearby computer had the exact size and shape of my foot.
I always thought I had two normal feet, similar shapes and sizes, and that two shoes of the same width and length were just fine. I was shocked to learn that was apparently not the case. After realizing one foot was a bit larger than the other, I was directed to which shoes would be most comfortable (while still looking great) and the shoe shopping commenced.
After choosing your favorite look, you’re able to start with the customization. This includes choosing the color, the sole, and whether or not you would like something engraved inside the heel. I did this at the shop, but once you’re in the system with your foot measured you can do this from anywhere on the website.
The entire process was quick and simple.
The end result of this process: One hell of a great pair of shoes.
It took some time for the shoes to arrive (they are hand crafted in Europe) but they are well worth the wait. The leather is premium and soft, the fit is dead on, and they catch the eye of everyone person I walk passed on the street. My only problem with Left Shoe Company: I can’t decide which style I want to grab next.
