Our Summer Travel Essentials

We’re sharing our Summer #TheIndisposables while traveling as part of a Schick® Xtreme3® sponsored series for Socialstars.

If you’ve already taken care of yourself, next you need to think about others, so we’ve got a great gift guide for travelers: click to read.

Oddly enough, when you’re traveling the nicest things to have are the comforts of home. While we can’t provide your worn in slippers and favorite pillow when you’re hundreds of miles away, we can give you a few necessities that can make your travel that much smoother.

A Great Razor

A great razor is indisposable when you’re traveling. There is no need to look like a cave man just because you’re south of the border, and this way when you get home and shave your face won’t be two different shades. We recommend the Schick® Xtreme3®. The three flexible blades are easy on that sun scorched skin of yours and the vitamin E will breathe a little life back into it.

The Right Hair Product

While you don’t want the wind deciding your look for the day, you also don’t want pomade dripping down your forehead thanks to the heat. The alternative? A light, perfect for the summer cream. We like this sage cream from Malin+Goetz. It gets the job done and it smells like freshness in a tube.

A Summer Deodorant

Most deodorants smell good, of course, but they don’t all smell great. This isn’t as much a travel rule as an every day rule, but you don’t want to smell like a frat boy. So throw away the $4 deodorant you got at Walgreens and opt for something a little more mature. We’re big fans of Cedrat by L’Occitane. It smells like citrus in the summer and keeps you smelling like you aren’t sweating in the summer heat, which is obviously the goal.

A Cooling Face Moisturizer

After a long day in the sun your face is going to need some rejuvenation. Bring a moisturizer with mint, or another ingredient with a cooling effect. Not only do you get some moisture back in your dried out face, but it feels damn good while putting it on. We’re loving the No. 17 Facial Moisturizer from Montez Renault, it keeps our faces extra soft and nice.

Foot Powder

Saver of feet and conqueror of all things sweaty, there are few items in a bag that can come in handier than Gold Bond when the going gets tough. Throw a little in your shoes, throw some more wherever else you need it. Just make sure you bring it with.

A Solid Dopp Kit

You can’t bring all these essential items on your trip without the right dopp kit to throw them in. This cloth dopp from Stone + Cloth is exactly what we all need. No fuss, no fancy tricks, just a solid kit with a good zipper. It’s minimal and that’s exactly what we need– less space trying to look cool and more space for us to cram our necessities.
