The Belt You Should Be Wearing This Summer

Men’s fashion is an ever-growing and ever-changing entity.  There were times when a man could get by with one reversible black and brown belt.  When socks came in only black or white.  A time when color just didn’t have a place in a man’s wardrobe.  Thankfully, times have changed and companies have adapted to the trends.  We see colorful socks all fall but when summer hits the sensible ones trade in their socks for bare ankles and loafers.  This leaves an opening for men to add a new colorful detail to their outfit.  You want something subtle but something that shows you have style.  Your best bet: a colorful belt.

Belts in various colors have been around for a little while, probably longer than most of us are aware of.  But the problem I always found is that you can either get a cheap canvas, super casual belt or a high fashion, outrageous price tag one.  This wasn’t working for me.  I wanted something fun I could throw on with chinos, but could also wear with a trendy suit should the mood strike.  And most importantly, I wanted a wide selection and the ability to afford more than one if I liked it.

Well lucky for me (and you, in this instance) Life, Tailored came across the wonderful belt loving people of Mission Belts.

This perfect for summer, right amount of detail having belt is exactly what every man needs to throw in his summer belt rotation.  I currently have The Admiral (pictured above and available for $39.95) and it is perfect for a casual belt with some grey chinos, or to add that extra touch on a tan linen suit.

This has definitely helped up my summer game, and I’d honestly recommend everyone grabs one to check out.  The buckle is minimal and understated, not leaving you with any giant western lookalike.  The belt itself has no holes, which are replaced with plastic teeth that catch a lever on the buckle holding it all in place.  The ratchet system is great with over 30 sizes to lock in.  The leather itself is soft and colored beautifully.  It’s pretty much an all around win.

My one difficulty… getting the belt off.  I struggled slightly getting the lever to work exactly how it should the first time, though this was probably operator error.  Just make sure you don’t wear it for the first time on taco night.  Apparently I really should have watched the following video first…

All in all, this belt is definitely worth the $35 – $40 it costs to pick one up.  I think I may have to grab myself another one soon, if I can settle on a color.

Oh yeah, they also give $1 from every belt to help fight world hunger.  So now you can feel extra good about your new purchase.

Check out the entire line of Mission Belts and enjoy your new way to step up your details game.
