A Word from Private Hell’s Travis Reilly

The New York City label, Private Hell, launched a new collection earlier this year that would be described as futuristic grunge, bringing the feeling of the LES to a clothing line. It has been put on the fast track for success and looks at Johnny Cupcake’s story as an inspiration, which created an entire empire off of an idea of creating an experience while shopping. The creator of Private Hell, Travis Reilly, also seeks insight from his talented friends.

The key to Reilly’s more than favorable outcome would be a direct result of being his own boss and bringing his own friends aboard. It created an environment that made working enjoyable, as well as generated an open conversation about where the company will go. When asked what his most enjoyable piece to design was, Reilly immediately responded that it had to be the initial logo, which is a play on the “Don’t Tread on Me” insignia. Reilly continued saying that “I think you’ll see that logo sticking around forever.”

Following that response, we were interested in what the philosophy of the brand was, Reilly responded, “It was important for me to create more than a logo, but to create a signature; something that people would immediately recognize as Private Hell and be able to identify with. My hope is for Private Hell to become a community of it’s own, a group of people with common interests and a way for people to relate to each other in the same way that a flag can have that effect.”

The final thing that Reilly wanted our readers to know… “Pro-Wrestling is real.”
