7 Best Rain Boots for Men

Spring is wet.  This should come as no surprise.  And while we love some classy leather kicks as much as the next guy, that just isn’t always practical.  Instead of ruining your beautifully polished loafers and wingtips, trade them in (when possible) for some high quality rubber rain boots.

Don’t know where to find some badass rain boots for men?  Let us help you out.

Hunter

A great mix of practical and stylish, the Original Lace Ups from Hunter are an easy choice.  Not too high, but high enough no puddle should go over the top of the ankles.  Good for casual walks and everyday rain wear.  Not good for playing in massive potholes turned swimming pools.

Hunter Original Lace-Up Boots, $165.

Converse

Your classic high-top All Stars with a rubber twist.  These focus more on style than function, but they do work.  Avoid large puddles and torrential downpours, but wear them with light to medium rain.  Also a great choice for music festivals where your shoes typically get caked with mud and ruined.  Just go home and rinse these off and you’re good.

Chuck Taylor All Star Rubber, $44.99

Helly Hansen

A standard rain boot with a not so standard color.  We like the blue, and the fact that it goes up mid-calf.  We also like the price tag on these.  These are your weekend storm boots, and they will do their job well.

Helly Hansen ‘Midsund’ Rain Boots, $59.95

Tretorn

Another great sneaker option if you’re not into the Converse look.  These are solid, built to last, and will keep your toes dry.  Tretorn has been making rubber boots for over a 100 years, and they’ve put as much thought into their newest line as their original one.

Tretorn Gunnar Canvas Rain Boots for Men, $95.

Swims

Just because it’s raining, doesn’t mean you need a full on boot.  Or maybe it rained yesterday, and while the sun is out, so are the puddles.  Whatever the situation, it’s nice to have a nice pair of waterproof loafers in the mix.  Get ’em wet, wear ’em dry, it doesn’t matter, they look good either way.  Plus, these are a great addition to any time you might find yourself on a dock or boat.

Swims Braided Lace Loafer, $136.

Hunter

Essentially the industry standard, these are heavy duty and classic.  Your feet will stay dry, and these will last you for years to come.

Hunter Original Two Tone Short Rain Boots, $145.

Swims

The businessman’s best friend, a great pair of galoshes.  We like these better than your typical short galoshes that only cover where the rubber ends on these, they give you full boot protection and zip tight to keep the water at bay.   Galoshes are never the most stylish option on the block, but when you take them off and your shoes look as good as the day you bought them, who gives a shit?

Swims Mobster Black Galoshes, $86.
