Suitsupply showed their Fall Winter 2016 collection this passed Men’s Fashion Week in Soho. Their inspiration began at the art museum. They took a stroll around the MoMA, staring at some of the greatest works of art. Thoroughly inspired, they began to look at their line the same way we look at art.
The suit became their canvas, and the furnishings that complete the look became Suitsupply’s palette. Like Rothko’s paintings, a tonal base is broken up by warmer shades like copper, emerald, and a deep ocean blue—hues inspired by the local flavor and colorful terrain of countries like India, Afghanistan, and Tibet.
They designed this collection with the intent that layering pieces like bodywarmers, knits, and vests break apart an otherwise monotone look, while plenty of cashmere options in colors like soft gray, camel, and off-white add a welcome dose of texture. No matter how you put it together, it’s the ideal palette for creating a stylish masterpiece.
