Konnichiwa to new Japanese prints at Proper Cloth

Inspired by the ancient Japanese printing style, Proper Cloth worked closely with a printing mill in Como, Italy to bring you these vintage designs back to life. Starting with a wonderfully smooth and lightweight Italian poplin, Proper Cloth carefully printed the subtle Japanese motifs to look slightly faded for an easygoing look. These vintage prints, made in the Katazome style, were traditionally handmade by stenciling a cloth with rice paste and then painting the cloth in natural indigo. There are 5 shirts to choose from, all gain more character over time as the indigo fades.
