February has already begun, and soon it will be showtime. By showtime, you can take that to mean the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams finally getting it on at Super Bowl LVI. The date: 13th. The venue: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, Los Angeles, California.
According to the current Super Bowl odds, the Rams are the favorites to win, but the Bengals will be doing their best to prove the sportsbooks wrong and create a memorable upset.
While some are planning their bets, however, others will be planning how to get to the game. Are you one of the lucky fans who will be visiting the SoFI Stadium and seeing the action unfold on the grid? Then this travel guide is for you.
Flying to LA for the Super Bowl
Los Angeles isn’t just the host of this year’s Super Bowl, but a tourist destination itself, so you might fancy hopping on board a plane, jetting in to attend the game and exploring the area while you’re here.
Several different airports serve California, although some are a little further away from Inglewood. You may feel it’s worth making the journey, however:
LAX has the most flight options, of course, since it’s the largest airport, but you may wish to try flying to smaller airports because they can offer more competitive pricing options. There may also be less congestion at the airport, which will take out some of the stress of air travel for you, too.
Hotels
When it comes to hotels near the venue, Marriot has a plentiful offering, with at least eight hotels within five miles of the stadium.
Hilton Hotels also make life easy for anyone not looking to have to travel too far back to the hotel after the game. They have at least five hotels within five miles of the stadium. Perhaps your best option is the Embassy Suites Hotel, which is around 3.5 miles from Inglewood, and is so purely because of the comfort factor. Each room is a suite and has a separate bedroom and living area.
Downtown Los Angeles transportation
Remember that when you’re traveling during Super Bowl week, you should always allow yourself plenty of time to get to where you need to be. Los Angeles will be much busier, and it will be harder to get anywhere as fast as you’d like to. Here are some further travel tips for downtown travel:
Parking and transportation on Game Day
When you have tickets, parking and getting to the game could be a lot more straightforward than you imagine. If you purchase a parking permit in advance, you can park at the stadium and avoid the fight for parking spaces. The stadium parking lots will open four to five hours before the game starts.
Alternatively, you can park at a shuttle parking lot and then take the shuttle. If you don’t feel like driving, you can just buy a shuttle pass in advance and jump on the shuttle. Purchase your shuttle pass alone from Blue 98th Street load zone near Century Boulevard and LAX so that you can ride effortless and quickly to and from the stadium.
The shuttle will run every five to eight minutes from 10:45 am during the day and through the game. It will operate for 90 minutes after the end of the game.
Super Bowl day is nearly here, and the excitement is mounting. Note that Los Angeles will be much busier during Super Bowl week, so it’s best to plan as much as possible to get the best of this fabulous occasion in the sporting calendar. Plan how you’re going to get there and then just enjoy the game.
