Las Vegas: A Couple’s Travel Guide

Las Vegas: A Couple’s Travel Guide

Las Vegas is one of the most iconic destinations for couples to travel to. With many famous marriages (some, not so successful) having happened at the Little White Chapel, and an array of fun activities to do, it’s no wonder so many people choose Vegas as a Honeymoon or holiday destination with their partner.

In this guide, we’ll cover some of the top things for couples to do while on a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada.

The High Roller

For one of the best views of Vegas, a ride on the High Roller is a must. This 550-foot tall, 520-foot diameter ferris wheel, located on the Las Vegas Strip, is the world’s second tallest ferris wheel – and a great photo opportunity.

The ride (or revolution) lasts 30 minutes – and depending on what view you want to capture, it’s open day and night. If you are looking for an extra special experience on this amazing attraction, pay the extra to upgrade to the open bar in the High Roller cabin with the Happy Hour option!

At dusk, it’s certainly a romantic spot to be. Be sure to bring your camera to capture all those great shots.

The Strip

A trip to Las Vegas is not complete for couples without experiencing the Las Vegas Strip. Home to an astonishing number of bars, restaurants, attractions and some of the city’s best casinos.

Try your hand at a variety of different card games and poker variations to your heart’s content. Many potential players educate themselves on all the hand rankings such as the poker flush, in order to give themselves the best possible chance of winning! The Strip is certainly a one-of-a-kind place.

Running 4.2 miles long from Sahara Avenue through to Russell Road, this street attracts around 43 million visitors each year. Along the way, you can check out replicas of some of the world’s most known and loved places including the Eiffel Tower and more. There are loads of attractions and rides throughout the entirety of the Strip. Beginning at The STRAT on the north end, if you enjoy an adrenaline rush you can check out the world’s highest thrill ride, Big Shot, or X Scream which teeters over the edge of the tower. Further south, you can find Circus Circus which homes the Adventure Dome, an indoor theme park.

While on the strip, a romantic stop can be had at the Fountains of Bellagio, which perform every half hour from 3PM.

Cirque du Soleil

This Canadian entertainment act came to Vegas, and in cities around the world, years ago. And it never fails to disappoint. There are seven different Cirque du Soleil shows across Las Vegas, which makes it the perfect city to be to watch one, or several, if you wish. This acrobatics and aerialist show is like no other, and features some amazing music to accompany this astonishing performance.

Whichever show you choose to go to during your time in Las Vegas, it’s certainly set to be an evening you won’t forget. Cirque du Soleil is always a classic and has stood the test of time.

Top Golf

For couples who are fans of golf, Top Golf is a must-visit while you’re in Las Vegas. If you’ve not been before, expect a driving range where you get your own bay — along with food and drink service that you can enjoy throughout.

While the Top Golf chain operates all across the US, the one in Las Vegas is located behind MGM Casino. It’s a perfect activity for both beginners and seasoned pros, and the table service makes it that much more fun.

Gondola Rides

The Gondola Rides as Las Vegas’s The Venetian have become something of Las Vegas icons – and an experience worth considering making part of your trip. If you want to get a bit of a Venice experience in Nevada, book yourself a ride. These trips last 15 minutes and can be shared between two people or four – you might even get to experience a gondolier sing-a-long as you go.

Get married – or renew your vows

Las Vegas has become famous for being a place for weddings and vow renewals, and many locations offer quick and easy packages that require no-fuss and all fun. A drive-thru wedding might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely something of a Vegas tradition for some.

While having Elvis serenade you as you renew your vows can only happen in a city like Las Vegas. It’s certainly a home for love, whether it lasts for a lifetime or just a weekend!
