Life, Tailored was started in 2015 when @ThreadTherapy and I moved to New York from Gainesville, FL. We loved the city, and wanted to share all the awesome things we discovered with our friends and family, and Life, Tailored was that outlet.

What started out initially as a focus on food and shopping has morphed into travel, videos, and interactive guides. @ThreadTherapy has an amazing eye for design and aesthetic, and it’s her vision that’s helped us build a truly amazing brand.

I’ve partnered with Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group to tell our love story and creation story, all opinions are mine.

I met @ThreadTherapy Senior year of college at the University of Florida. Our first date was the last day of finals, and we’ve been together ever since that first date, back in 2007. After college, she moved to Miami and I stayed in Gainesville to work on a startup. For 6 months straight, we would see each other every weekend.Either I would ride the 7 hour bus to Miami (sometimes without A/C) or she would drive 3.5 hours from Miami to Orlando, where I would drive 1.5 hours from Gainesville to pick her up. Our friends thought we were crazy, and nobody thought we would last.

At the end of 6 months, I convinced her to move back to our college town, I had gotten her an amazing job. It paid $0/year and was commission-only. She crushed it. I knew she was the one.

We moved to New York 5 years ago, with the goal of making a life in the most exciting place in the world. That’s the year we launched Life, Tailored, as a way to showcase everything we loved about New York.

Our partnership has been, I handle the technical side of things, and she handles the creative direction and photography. Any amazing shot you see on Life, Tailored is courtesy of her. I couldn’t be more proud of her.
