Designing the Ultimate Bachelor Pad

We all need to leave behind the misconception that interior designing is just for women. After all, your home is a direct representation of who you are as a person… at least, that’s what all your guests will be thinking. And beer-stained carpets and sport memorabilia decor are, fortunately, for all of us, not okay anymore.

But decorating a room at Eatonville apartments doesn’t necessarily mean you need to spend thousands of dollars on an actual interior designer or that guy from that TLC show. So, don’t worry about knocking down walls or replacing full countertops or buying an elaborate tool belt you’ll never use again. We did all the work for you by breaking down the main areas of an apartment and handpicking affordable and simple pieces to up your bachelor pad game without breaking the bank (or a nail).

The Bedroom

Or what we like to call, “Where the Magic Happens.” In the bedroom, stick to a main color (in this case, gray), and pick as many different shades for the sheets, curtains, rugs and furniture. Don’t clutter your bedroom with a ton of furniture or decor; the less stuff, the easier to clean.

CB2 Alpine White Bed ($579-699)

West Elm Retro Tillary Ottoman + Cushions ($199-749)

CB2 Handwoven Recycled Sari Silk Grey Rug ($129-649)

Ikea Lovbacken Side Table ($59.99)

Ikea GURLI Gray/Black Throw ($12.99)

The Living Room

Comfort, comfort, comfort! Just because your new living room might feel like an immaculate but incredibly hip hospital room, doesn’t mean it can’t allow you to throw your feet up. And can you ever go wrong with a brown, leather couch? Grandfather-approved.

Room & Board Anson 86″ Sofa ($3,299)

CB2 Hackney Wood Cocktail Table ($299)

Room & Board Mid-Century Shelving ($29-549)

West Elm Embroidered Metallic Bullseye Pillow Cover in Bronze ($19.99)

CB2 Chevron Coffee Table ($399)

The Man Cave

This may look like a London pub, but it’s actually a built-in man cave in someone’s actual home. Okay, okay, this may not be very practical, but taking elements of a pub and incorporating them into your man cave may just be the key to making your apartment a real bachelor pad. And yes, it’s okay to throw in a pool table or a pinball machine. This should be your “happy hour” alternative and what else is better than coming home to something that doesn’t talk back to you?

Pottery Barn Rustic Ultimate Bar ($2,399-2,899)

CB2 Porter Bar Cart ($399)

West Elm Rustic Bar Stool and Counter Stool ($189-398)

IKEA Lodrat Beer Glasses ($1.99)

Pottery Barn Rye Collection

The Bathroom

The important thing about the bathroom is you don’t necessarily have to replace the sink or any of the infrastructure. What can really bring a bathroom to the ultimate bachelor pad level is its accessories. Add a free-standing towel rack or a subtle shower curtain to really bring your bathroom together.

CB2 Sift 2-Level Tower ($89.95)

West Elm Ticking Stripe Shower Curtain ($59)

The Kitchen

We love stainless steel kitchens! But, just like the bathroom, you don’t necessarily need to change infrastructure or replace any appliances. Try mixing both manmade and natural materials; we love the idea of mixing wood, marble and steel.

IKEA Kitchen Cart ($149)

West Elm 15-pc Set with Downtown Block ($199.99)
