Cheap Flights from IAH to Japan with Tokyo Stopover

We found a limited selection of flights for this multi city dream trip to Japan with flights in the $1,600 range.

Fly to Japan on ANA with Tokyo Stopover

Our first search was with ANA Air for its reputation as Japan’s largest airline and excellent flyer reviews. We found a $1,300 flight allowing for Kyoto and Tokyo stops.

However, when it comes to booking a reward flight, it is wall to wall waitlisted. So we continued our search.

Fly to Japan for 115k Points on United

Next we searched United Airlines and discovered a $1,500 flight from Houston to Kyoto followed by one week in Tokyo. At 155k points, this flight is giving you $0.014 per point.

Based on the current cards you have, our recommendation is to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve, which has a 50k point sign up bonus, when you spend $4,000 in the first 3 months, to apply to a round trip flight to Japan.
