Today we are helping a couple fly First Class to Paris for 80k points each way. We absolutely love visiting Paris. From its landmarks like the Louvre and and the Eiffel Tower to the simplicity of street cafes and fresh baguettes with cheese and wine. We highly suggest venturing over to Chateau de Versailles for an exceptional glimpse at the magnificent palace and gardens. Or wander along Montmartre to Sacre Coeur.

We found numerous flights to Europe. We chose Paris as our gateway city for its volume of flights, great location as a choice nexus point for getting around Europe, and most importantly, it is in the top three of our favorite Western European cities. With its international reputation as La Ville Lumière (city of lights) and La Ville de l’Amour (city of love) it is a must-see destination on any European Dream Trip. With these thoughts in mind, Paris is the best city to begin your journey.
Naturally, our first stop for this trip was Air France. We searched for an 8 week span of flights. Although they have frequent flights between HNL and Paris, the option for First Class on a points redemption was unavailable.
Next, we searched Delta Airlines and found a $6,700 Business Class flight for 385k points plus a $150 fee, giving you a paltry $0.017 per point. This option has three strikes. Huge points redemption, large fee, and skimpy points rate. We continued our search because this is far from a good value.
We searched United Airlines and found a $6,000 flight for 165k points. This option is giving you $0.036 per point. This flight at half the points cost with double the value, and a barely-there fee is superior to Delta
To redeem this flight, transfer your Citi points to a partner airline and book the United flight through their portal.
Our search of American Airlines found a $7,000 flight going for a great 80k each way in First Class. This option is giving you a fantastic $0.044 per point.
To redeem this flight, book through your Citi account or Aadvantage portal.
Based on the current cards you have, our recommendation is to get the Citi Premier Card which has a 60k sign up bonus, after a $4,000 spend within the first 3 months for a First Class flight to Paris. This card also offers 3x travel points.
Sign up for the CitiBusiness / AAdvantage Platinum Select Mastercard World Elite Mastercard which has a 50k sign up bonus, after a $2,500 spend within the first 3 months, for a First Class flight to Paris.
