There comes a time in everyone’s life that the fun-loving, beer-soaked couch you have had since your first college apartment isn’t going to cut it anymore. You want something nice, without breaking the bank. You want something contemporary. You want something that doesn’t smell like your 20’s.
If you’re lucky you might be able to find a winner on Craigslist, which in most cities is great: not so much in New York. The odds of having a car here, or even knowing someone who knows someone who has a car are very slim. New Yorkers walk, take public transit, or take cabs on those special occasions. But New Yorkers (at least most New Yorkers) don’t drive. Day-to-day this is an amazing gift. There is no traffic for you. There is no car insurance, or ridiculous gas prices. However, when you’re looking to move a big piece of furniture the subway isn’t going to cut it.
