Jarah Mariano is one of the world’s most unique beauties stemming from a mixture of Native Hawaiian and Korean descent. She is best known for her appearances in the 2008 and 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions, as well as Victoria’s Secret.

Mariano was born in the city of Lihue on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. At the age of four Mariano relocated with her family to California, where she was raised in the city of Mission Viejo with her two older brothers. At the age of 15 she was discovered in Santa Monica, California by a model scout. After graduating from Trabuco Hills High School, she moved to New York City, where she continued to model and attended Pace University as a full-time student, receiving her degree in Speech Communications with a Media Studies Concentration.
In 2005, Mariano landed the utmost coveted position of being a part of the Victoria’s Secret rankings. Continuing to the present day to represent the brand. It is arguable that she was the first of Asian descent to be featured, although indeed the first of Native Hawaiian descent. In 2008, Jarah became the first Native Hawaiian and Korean to be featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition photographed on Maui, Hawaii by Stewart Shining. She continued on to grace the pages in 2009 as well photographed by Raphael Mazzucco on Canouan Island, House of Dereon, American Eagle, L’oreal Matrix, Rock and Republic, C-Thru Fragrance, and Festival Walk Hong Kong and many others.
Jarah has appeared in the pages of numerous magazines such as; Self, L’Uomo Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Italian Vanity Fair, Taiwan Vogue, Elle, Vibe, Shape, Korean Esquire, Women’s Health, V, Fitness, Teen Vogue, Luxury Korea, Theme, and heated up the cover for Complex Magazine’s 5th Anniversary Issue in 2007. She has strut the runways for fashion week in both New York and Miami. Her video work includes; Jay-Z’s comeback video “Show Me What You Got” directed by F. Gary Gray, a cameo appearance in the NBC television series “Chuck”, she appeared in music videos for the Korean group Clazziquai and was featured in several Korean spots such as Star King.
Outside of the fashion world, Mariano lends her support to various charities ranging from; breast cancer, muscular dystrophy, water relief, inner city children, environmental awareness, and animal rights. She primarily resides in New York and in her free time she likes to do photography, cook, practice yoga, surf, attend concerts, and enjoy her family and friends.
