Alison Brie is an American actress, best known for her roles as Trudy Campbell in the hit series “Mad Men”, and as Annie Edison in the series “Community”.

She’s been dating fellow actor Dave Franco since 2012, with the pair reportedly becoming engaged in 2015.

Alison Brie was born Alison Brie Schermerhorn on December 29, 1982 in Hollywood, CA., and has one sister. She has a mixture of Jewish ancestry from her mother’s side, and Scottish, Dutch, and Irish ancestry from her father’s side.

Alison began her acting career at the Jewish Community Center, and graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in theatre in 2005. She once told Conan O’Brien on the subject, “It’s wonderful, I got a great education there. It’s also very liberal, and the time that I was there it was especially liberal, in ways like, clothing is optional everywhere except the cafeteria. Which I think it a really good policy. Because the last thing you want at the salad bar is, like, testicles.” She added, “Every now and then I would just throw on my tennies (tennis shoes) and take a jaunt. Not all the time, just once in a while, to exercise my right!”

Perhaps tiring of sunny California and it’s naked jogging, Alison also spent a short time studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland.

To make ends meet before her movie career took off, Alison Brie worked as a clown at birthday parties. She later recalled, “I did balloon animals. I did characters. I did these games where you’d bring a ball and a parachute and a boom box and dance around. I was a super-fun clown.”

Alison Brie also detailed, for the 2010 book “Worst Laid Plans: When Bad Sex Happen to Good People”, an experience where she had sex with her best friend, in order to determine whether he was really gay,

She first appeared on television in “Hannah Montana” in 2006, and also starred in the web series “My Alibi,” before landing parts in “Mad Men” in 2007, and “Community” in 2009.

Alison Brie said that, before she landed those parts, she spent “three years being a total loser,” living at home, and working as a receptionist at yoga studios. She added, “I’ve cornered the market on shows that not many people watch, but the people that watch them love them intensely.”

Some of Alison Brie’s 25+ film roles have included, “Scream 4”, “The Lego Movie”, and “Get Hard” with Will Ferrell.

As well as her success with moving pictures, Alison has also appeared in photoshoots for GQ and Men’s Health magazines, with her gracing the cover of GQ Mexico in March 2015.

For her role in “The Five-Year Engagement,” Alison said she learned to do a British accent by “stalking Emily Blunt like a psychopath and just standing near her and mumbling whatever she was saying.”

Alison Brie continues to be very active with her acting, with no fewer than five movies set for release in 2016. She can also currently be seen in the series “BoJack Horseman” on Netflix.
