Adrienne Eliza Bailon was born October 24, 1983 to a Puerto Rican mother, Nilda Felix, and an Ecuadorian father, Freddie Bailon. She grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Bailon was discovered by Latin popsinger Ricky Martin in October 1999 while she was performing in a church choir at Madison Square Garden. Martin asked for the four best singers in the group, and Bailon was one of the four elected by Martin to perform as backup singers as part of his Livin’ la Vida Loca Tour concert show later that night. is an American singer-songwriter, recording-artist, actress, dancer, and television personality. Bailon first became publicly known when she rose to fame as a founding member and lead singer of both 3LW (1999–2007) and The Cheetah Girls(2003–2008). Bailon started her career with singing group 3LW which led to her involvement in the Disney franchise, The Cheetah Girls.

Bailon recorded a debut solo album which was later shelved. Since then, Bailon has stated that she plans to record a Spanish solo album.

Aside from her work in 3LW and The Cheetah Girls, Bailon went on to develop her own acting career with roles in The Cheetah Girls films, Coach Carter and the MTV film All You’ve Got. Aside from her work in film, she has also guest starred in numerous television series including the Disney Channel series That’s So Raven and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Bailon has established a solo music career, contributing two solo tracks including, “What If”, to The Cheetah Girls: One World soundtrack as well as the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack, and other numerous guest musical ventures.

Currently, Bailon is one of the hosts of The Real talk show along with Tamera Mowry, Jeannie Mai, Tamar Braxton and Loni Love, which premiered on July 15, 2013.

Aside from her work in 3LW and The Cheetah Girls, Bailon went on to develop her own acting career with roles in The Cheetah Girls films.

The group’s success went on with their self-titled debut album, 3LW released on December 5, 2000.

After the departure of Naughton from the group, Bailon and Williams continued as a duo.

During that time, they were approached by Disney to star in a film about a girl group. They would play two members of a foursome, led by Disney starRaven-Symone and rounded out with singer Sabrina Bryan.

The film, titled The Cheetah Girls, which also served as the name of the girl group, was a hit. The soundtrack debuted at No. 33 on the Billboard 200 chart and eventually went Platinum.

Success pushed Disney to make the band official, signing Bailon, Williams and Bryan as The Cheetah Girls. Symone declined the offer. The band’s first album, A Cheetah-licious Christmas, was also a smash.

The hits led to follow-up films, including The Cheetah Girls 2 and The Cheetah Girls: One World.

By 2008, interest in the group had waned and the group officially disbanded.

 

When The Cheetah Girls ended, Bailon moved on to a solo career, signing a record deal with Def Jam! and releasing her first album in 2009.  She also signed a deal to star in the Style Network’s Empire Girls: Julissa and Adrienne, which followed the lives of Bailon and her good friend Julissa Bermudez as they tried to build their careers.

Bailon went on to host a pre-show for The X-Factor and star a number of smaller films and network movies-of-the-week, including The Coalition andLovestruck: The Musical.

Then, in 2013, Bailon was chosen to co-host a new daytime talk show, The Real, alongside Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry and Jeannie Mai. The show launched in 2013 with a short summer trial period on select stations in a few cities. It debuted nationally in September 2014.
