Yeun was conceived in Seoul, South Korea, to South Korean guardians Je and June Yeun. His dad was a modeler in South Korea before moving his family to Regina, Saskatchewan, and later to Michigan. Yeun was brought up in Troy, Michigan in a Christian family. Yeun’s folks started calling him “Steven” in the wake of meeting a specialist in America by that name.
