The Victorinox Inox

Victorinox-Sign

Victorinox and Swiss Army have stood for class, luxury, and craftsmanship for decades.  This year they are celebrating their 130th anniversary, along with their 25th anniversary of their time piece division.  For this momentous occasion Victorinox has released their new line of watches that goes above and beyond the industry standards of endurance, quality and style.  Pairing up with the FDNY, Victorinox has put together a watch that withstood 130 tests of its strength, including fire, ice, being driven over by a tank, and taking a ride in a washing machine.  Last night we were invited to witness a few of these tests for ourselves, and take a first look at Victorinox’s new line: Inox.

The Real Ice Challenge.

Last night’s venue we split into multiple “Testing Areas” where you could witness the rigorous tests Inox watches withstand before getting the okay.  One of our favorites?  Watching an ice block being carved into a mountain filled with watches.  Even though you can’t tell in the photo, each watch it ticking away perfectly beneath the surface of this frozen showcase.  Impressive.

The Pressure Test

The Inox is able to withstand the pressure of an army tank rolling over it.  Of course, we didn’t have any tanks on hand last night, but the FDNY brought their own test.  The Inox took the weight of a firetruck multiple times, not even a scratch.

Scratch Proof

One testing area had watches being taken apart to show all the ins and outs of what a Swiss timepiece means.  They also used this area to show the scratch proof face and back of the Inox.

Available in three colors, the Victorinox Inox is a perfect transition into fall.  My personal favorite lies between the navy and olive colors, but choosing one would be near impossible.  The mix of sport and class is one of a kind, and one that you should be rocking on your wrist.

The Man Behind the Brand

I was lucky enough to grab a quick photo and talk Inox with the man who makes this all happen, CEO of Victorinox Swiss Army North America, Rene Stutz.  Judging by the passion he puts behind this brand, we have a lot more to be looking forward to in the future.
