Modern Yet Timeless: The Classic Elegance That Is Victorinox

There are hundreds of details that go into making the perfect watch. The right band, the simplistic yet advanced design, all the Swiss mechanics that are beneath the surface. A first timer doesn’t create the perfect watch on a whim; it is sought after, designed, developed and perfected for highest excellence from one model to the next. I love watches; I own a handful and can only hope to grow my collection of Swiss excellence over the years. For those of you starting a new collection, or a seasoned vet looking for a great addition, I bring you the new Alliance Mechanical from Victorinox. You’re gonna love it.

The Alliance comes in a couple of styles for you to choose from, with choices of an eggshell or dark grey dial and your choice of a stainless steel or soft black leather bracelet. Each style boasts the Victorinox Swiss Army logo at the 12 and a date window just above the 6. For the first time, the new Alliance’s also feature the notable bright red second hand matching the infamous red associated with Victorinox.

Flipping this modern classic over you see a window into the self-winding ETA 2824 movement. Just one more reminder of the smooth Swiss mechanics that go into making each of these watches what they are.

Aside from the superior quality and mechanics that dwell on the inside of this watch, what really sells us on it is the exterior. Each style has the perfect amount of minimalistic detail. Enough little touches that you know this is a quality timepiece, without all the extra gears and flash to take away from the classiness of the watch. You can throw this on with a suit and look right at home in the boardroom, or toss it on with a leather jacket and boots and have just the right amount of edge.

The Alliance Mechanical is available at a number of retailers and the price varies slightly depending on style and location, but generally hovers between $750 and $800.

If you are in the market for a new watch, look no further. Nothing beats the mechanics of the Swiss, and even less beat the elegance of the Alliance Mechanical.
