H By Hudson Boots, a Review on the Boots We Just Fell In Love With.

Hudson has been around since 1990 and has made their name known around the shoe world ever since.  In 2004, the brand that never sits back and watches the world go by decided to launch a new line, H by Hudson.  This line of impeccably designed men’s and women’s boots and shoes is fashion forward, comfortable and more than worth taking a look at.  Read on to see what I thought about my first pair of H by Hudson boots.

A Little Background on H by Hudson

As mentioned earlier, H by Hudson joined the ranks of the Hudson team in 2004, quickly followed by its ladies line by the same name in 2008.  H by Hudson grew rapidly, with its (at that time) 14 years of knowhow in the shoe world combined with its new trendy takes on fashion the brand not only made a name for itself but moved into the top category for shoe lovers.

Continuing to reinvent modern looks and putting their own touches on them, H by Hudson not only makes shoes and boots that stay on trend but ones that are of the highest quality.  Each shoe is well constructed and finished beautifully, including hand-finished pieces with a vintage yet fashion forward look to them.  The right pair of these boots will look as good with a slim fit suit as they will your favorite pair of jeans, and who doesn’t like killing two birds with one stone?

My First Pair of H by Hudson Boots

After spending some time perusing the large collection of men’s boots I decided to go with the Swathmore in brown suede.  I made a good choice.  The boots were not exactly as they looked in the photo, a little darker, and the toes a little more blunt than narrow but still the perfect boot.  The stitching and quality is on par with any top designer shoe I own.  The suede on the exterior is not overly soft, but that’s not what I’m looking for in a boot so I was pleased, however the interior grain is quite soft and not at all stiff, making the fit extremely comfortable from the start.

My first outing was to the local watering hole several blocks from my apartment in downtown Minneapolis.  In case you aren’t familiar with the frigid ways of Minnesota, it’s cold, it’s snowy, it’s icy, it’s what winter is when you picture winter at the North Pole, but with a worse windchill.  The boots held up well, a little slippery, but that is expected with any shoe that doesn’t have a rubber sole so it was nothing I’m not used to (especially on the icy sidewalks here).  I wore them with some slim cut camo chinos and my girlfriend could not stop telling me how much she liked the look of the shoes.  While I would like to take all the credit and say I just know how to put together an outfit, the were definitely the main component.

We hopped around a few different places that evening, and when I finally made my way home I was blister free, and even happier with my choice in shoes than when I left.

Our Final Review on H by Hudson Boots

Definitely worth picking up a pair.  I just got mine a week ago and have worn them many times since.  I am always on the lookout for shoe companies that not only make a great shoe and boot, but won’t cost an arm and a leg to get a new pair.  H by Hudson is the perfect way to stay on trend and treat yourself regularly without having to take out a second mortgage to do so.

I can sing all the praise in the world for these shoes, but the only way you’ll truly understand is to go grab a pair for yourself.  You won’t regret it.
