Pros and Cons with Flying on WOW Air

Pros

  • Affordable fares – The tickets do not cost you an arm and a leg. Each flight from Baltimore and Boston to many European capitals were just $99 and the taxes and fees were included.  When you fly in Wow Air, you can save tons of money compared with other airlines.
  • New Fleet – Unlike with other airlines, the fleet of Wow Air is much cozier and convenient, the seats are adjustable and have a built-in power to charge your gadgets in each of them. The fleet’s amenities are designed to be more proportionate.
  • Same Seat Dimensions – Wow air wants to provide comfort to each passenger so the airline designed the seat to have more space. Seat size is closely similar to the competitors as they are fighting to give the travelers comfy feeling while they are in their flight.
  • Inflight Advertisements – The flight attendants are advertising goods such as liquor, cigarettes, souvenirs, and more. Each seat top has been hung with some advertisements too. This is great for travelers who may have forgotten something they need for the plane.
  • Added Destinations – Wow Air added more routes in 2016 across Europe, Canada, and the US. They have 36 amazing destinations to choose from. Some of these are Miami, Warsaw, Pittsburg, Milan, Lyon and many more. If you want to find out more about their destinations, try to visit their website.

Cons

  • Excessive Bag Fees –  Carry-on bags which are less than 6 kg. can be bought for free. You can weigh up to 26 kg. for $48 at check-in or $38 for paying online.   As for the checked bags, it is costly. The weight limit is 20 kg for each bag. It costs $48 when paying online or $67 at check-in.
  • No Free Snacks and Water – The airline does not provide free food or drinks– not even a glass of water. If you want to eat or drink, you have to buy them and they can start to add up after a while. A simple bottle of water is more than $2.
  • No Free Stop Over – All transatlantic flights of Wow have a quick and optional stopover in Iceland. This is great if your final destination is in that location, but if your destination is in any of the other 20 European countries, you won’t be able to have a long time to explore the place since the longest stopover they offer is just 4 days.
  • Pay to Select Seat – If you opt to choose your own seats regardless of the location — for example, a seat near the exit row — you are going to pay an additional fee. I highly recommend avoiding this cost and simply checking in as early as possible. This way, you’ll have your choice of seats for free.

Travelers’ Review

These reviews are from random travelers that experienced flying with Wow. These may help you to decide whether you fly with the airline or not.

  • Trendy and low cost. WOW Air is one great option if you’re flying to Iceland or Europe. Though, just a heads up try to eat and drink in advance before your flight (food quality is really low) also try to bring some of your devices with pre-downloaded videos for some entertainment since neither Wifi nor in-flight entertainment is available. Try to check the full review here.
  • Wow Air is not a bad option if you just manage your expectations correctly. You need to prepare for the baggage restrictions, food, and some additional charges when traveling.  Wow air is trying to change the way we think in traveling internationally though, this only for a target group of people. If you decide to give Wow Air a try, just be sure, to sum up, all the additional charges and cost you’re going to incur and try to compare it with traditional carriers if it really cost you less or more. Find out the full review here.
  • Wow Air staff are great at doing their job. They did safety check thoroughly. They are friendly, helpful, and entertaining. Flying at a low cost doesn’t feel like  a low cost at all.  Read the full review here.
  • The prices are very reasonable in Wow Air. It is better to check in using the machines at the airport or check in online. Check the full review here.
  • Checking in is excellent because there are no hustle and fast. The Flight stewards are professional and really accommodating. The planes of Wow Air are new and leg rooms are spacious. More reviews here.
