The Great Ocean Road is a 200km stretch of road on the South Victorian coastline. If you are looking for the ultimate road trip in Australia, taking the Great Ocean Road is it. Hop in your Budget car rental, and visit the Twelve Apostles, while you’re on the road see if you can get a snap on the famous Great Ocean Road.

Wineglass Bay

Wineglass bay is home to the best sunsets in Australia, one of the top ten beaches in the world, and amazing pink granite cliffs rising from the big blue to form stunning mountain ranges. Visit year round, keep in mind that due to Tasmania’s distance from the equator seasons are dramatically colder than the rest of Australia, so pack wisely.

Nightcap National Park

Walk up to the stunning Minyon Falls, take one of the many hikes through the region, or climb up Mount Warning. A short 9km return loop, that will take you to the summit. Explore this World Heritage listed rainforest at your own leisure, remember your camera because this region is breathtaking.

Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island is one of the biggest islands in the Coral Sea and is the largest in The Whitsundays. Hamilton Island is a good base camp to explore the Great Barrier Reef, but as one of the most popular destinations in Australia expect to pay a pretty penny. Spend your days golfing, snorkelling, swimming, shopping or just relaxing at one of the many resorts and hotels.

Lord Howe Island

A subtropical island off the coast of Port Macquarie, heading to Lord Howe is an experience that many Australian’s have missed out on. With native flora and fauna only seen on this island, amazing dive sites and wild water sports you won’t want to leave. Climb Mount Glover and witness the island madness from above. Swim at any one of the local beaches or hire a boat and get yourself around the island for the day. Booking flights in advance is crucial as seasonality can greatly affect cost.
