Last Year We Vetted These 9 Travel Destinations & Guarantee You’ll Love Them

Jose Ignacio, Uruguay

Where do all of the most in the know Jetsetters go during Winter? They head south of the Equator to a small beach town in Uruguay with restaurants from a Michelin-starred chef, pristine beaches, and amazingly modern homes and hotels. Read our Jose Ignacio travel guide for details on how to get to this destination, a mere 14 hours from New York, the fastest, most enjoyable way.

Lisbon, Portugal

At only 6 hours travel time from New York, Lisbon is one of the most accessible International escapes. The city itself reminds me very much of San Francisco with the rolling hills, massive bay, beautiful weather, and amazing food scene. The culinary season is hot, and amazing fare can be had at all ends of the price spectrum. Find out our favorite spots in Portugal in our travel guide.

Miami, FL

Miami is having its moment. There are amazing restaurants, a buzzing cocktail scene, and the beaches are as beautiful as ever. Read more about our favorite hotels, and top restaurant picks in our Miami travel guide.

Hunter, NY

If you have an affinity for anything with Brooklyn associated with it, than look no further than Scribner’s Lodge, which locals are calling the Brooklyn of the North. Why? The restaurant offers artisanal cocktails, the chef hails from Wassail (a top spot in the LES), and there’s plenty of flannel to go around. Plus, they just opened up their swimming pool for the Summer season. We’ll see you there once the weather creeps back up. Read our full Upstate New York travel guide for all the details.

San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is littered with Spring Breakers and folks on vacation from the Heartland, but San Jose Del Cabo, a town 30 minutes from the airport, is the complete opposite. It’s sleepy, has a quiet downtown (with an amazing mezcal bar), and beautiful modern hotels right along the beach. Our favorite is Mar Adentro, and it’ll quickly become yours once you try their life-changing breakfast burrito. Plan your trip with our San Jose Del Cabo travel guide.

Tulum, Mexico

Narcos season 1 was one of the best shows on Netflix, as it chronicled the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar. Where did Escobar happen to have a home? …on the beautiful beaches of Tulum. The home, Casa Malca, is now a modernist beachfront resort complete with fresh coconuts, amazing local food, and bathtub warm water. Read our full Tulum travel guide to plan your trip.

North Eleuthera, Bahamas

What if I told you you could have an entire private beach all to yourself for a week and it wouldn’t cost you Richard Branson money… That’s the promise and execution offered by The Other Side in North Eleuthera, Bahamas. Once you spend a week at The Other Side, you’ll never want to leave. Use our guide to find out how to get to North Eleuthera and everything you need to do at The Other Side.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is the destination everyone must visit at least once in their lives. The three towns of Oia, Imerovigli and Fira offer something for everyone: World class dining, the most romantic views in the world, and Greek island nightlife. This was our second trip back, and we discovered so many more amazing restaurants and excursions in our Santorini travel guide.

Sorrento, Italy

We loved the black sand beaches, super fresh seafood and amazing pasta in Sorrento, Italy, and on your way to the Amalfi Coast, this is a must-stop city only 30 minutes from Mount Vesuvius. View our favorite hotels and restaurants in our Sorrento travel guide.
