Imagine this, you’ve found a good girl and you want to invite her over to your apartment one night for dinner. You really want to impress her with a fancy, romantic meal. But here’s the thing, you cant cook for the life of you. You’ve tried classes, or maybe just YouTube-d “How to Boil Water” but nothing works. Or maybe you can cook and you just don’t want to deal with the commotion of it. (Not to mention the mess.) We’ve found a solution and it’s brilliant.
KitchenSurfing is a service that matches you with a personal chef in your area. As of now the service is only available in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, LA, and Berlin, with Washington, D.C. opening soon. As for the KitchenSurfing Tonight service, where the chefs are available for booking for that nights meal, is only available in New York City currently.
Here’s what happens. A personal chef comes to your home, prepares you a full meal from a set menu, cleans up and gets out of there so that you can enjoy your meal. Where’s the catch right?
There isn’t one. And the price cannot be beat: as low as $25 per person. Not sold yet? Listen to the options on tonight’s menu alone…
Meatballs in Tomato Sauce with Broccoli Rabe, Ricotta Crostini, and Beefsteak Tomatoes
Pan-Seared Cod with Cavatelli, Haricots Verts, and Fingerling Potatoes
Roasted Red Pepper and Feta Salad, Toasted Farro, Pickled Squash and Goat Cheese Crostini
Oh, and did I mention they take requests? Check ’em out!
