There are few things better in the dead heat of summer than a free concert with a river breeze. Complete with cocktails, food, and free pudding, the first of 3 free nights of amazing music sponsored by Wild Turkey American Honey was exactly what we were hoping it would be.
The first night of the Thursday night free concerts was July 9th, where Waxahatchee and Speedy Ortiz put on some amazing performances, even when the rain started pouring down.
However, even with all the breathtaking views and seemingly endless food choices, our favorite piece of the night was definitely the American Honey lemonade, which was so good we were willing to attempt to outlast the rain just to finish ours.
If you were unable to make it to the July 9th concert, you’re not completely screwed yet. There will be two more weeks, July 23rd and August 6th, where you can catch performances by We Were Promised Jetpacks, U.S. Girls, and Yuck. Each concert takes place at Pier 84 on the Hudson River. The events start at 6PM, and admission is free. Nights like these make your summer suck less—take advantage of them.
