How to Throw an Awesome Golfing Day with your Buddies

All work and no play should be illegal, so this week we’d like to encourage you to plan some play time. Whether you make it this weekend or next month, we’re sure you will have a blast if you follow some of these cool suggestions that we have gathered at Life, Tailored. Yes, you’re going golfing with your best mates!

Having a blast with your buddies should be a priority anyway, but with all respect, we know how hard it is these days to take time off and truly enjoy it with your friends without distractions of the everyday life. That’s why we suggest you to leave your mobile phones and your troubles at home (as well as your girlfriends/wives). That’s our first rule of having a blasting golfing day.

The Golf Course

Choosing the right golf course can make or break your golfing experience. In Spring or Winter time we suggest you take a trip to a warmer climate and soak in the amazing scenery at The Silverrock Golf Club in La Quinta California. This place is also perfect if you need to hone your skills.

If you don’t want to travel all the way to West Coast, take a good hour drive and visit the Centennial Golf Club in Carmel, New York. This course was designed and developed in keeping with the richest traditions of the game which will make your golfing experience the best one possible.

The Gear

Of course golf wouldn’t be the same without its meticulous gear. We’re talking pro golf clubs and cashmere sweaters. We love this cotton-cashmere v-neck sweater vest from Peter Millar, which can be worn year-round and will surely become your golfing essential.

As far as the golf clubs go, a gleaming new driver will impress your pals, but the right iron can shrink your handicap fast. If you’re a beginner, then we suggest to start off with a Cobra Max which will make up for a lot of bad swings. Not that you have any…

The Refreshments

Now that you have your basics (location and gear) set, make sure to attend to the most important basic of them all – refreshments. Don’t forget to pack some mike’s to make your game more interesting. Mike’s Hard Strawberry Lemonade and Mike’s Hard Raspberry Elderflower are the kind of beverages you’ll want in your golf cart: flavorful, cold, refreshing and just the right amount alcohol that makes it great for a day on the golf course.

The Meal

It’s only natural that you take a break from all the fun you’re having and grab something to eat. Most of the Golf Clubs have their own restaurants, and if you want to treat the guys to a meal make sure you order something you can all share, such as bbq wings, fries and pizza slices.

If you don’t want to leave the court then make sure to pre-pack some turkey and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. It’s simple and the guys will love it.

 The Company

Last and probably most important key to having an awesome time at your golfing trip is choosing your co-players wisely. No grinches or over competitive dudes allowed. If you want to truly enjoy your time with the guys and concentrate on the fun of the game leave all the downers and complainers back at home. Even if that means taking only your best mate with you.

We feel confident that you’ll have a blast if you follow these simple rules. Even if you end up playing at your local golf course, apply all other tips and be sure to have an awesome guy time.

So cheers to you and yours!
