One year ago, the guys from Whiskey Elements walked into the liquor store and asked themselves a very simple question: “What’s the difference between top shelf and well… whiskey?” The answer is taste, of course. However complex it may sound to try and ennoble the taste of bottom shelf whiskey, they also cracked the big mystery and developed a simple tool that will change how you look at whiskey forever. Time & Oak is a wooden oak stick that has ridges that allow the whiskey to be absorbed by the oak at a quicker rate. Put the wooden stick into a bottle of cheap whiskey and let it soak for 24 hours. What comes out is nothing but a smooth and rich flavoured whiskey, and it’s all thanks to science. Whiskey Elements provide a shorter distance for the whiskey to travel, allowing it to filter more quickly. Combined with their proprietary curing method and unique design, Time & Oak has managed to accelerate the maturation process, and reduce the impurities. This awesome invention is currently in its Kickstarter stage, so whiskey lovers make sure to support the project.
