Successful brands, from beverage to lifestyle, are built on the personalities of the colorful characters behind them, and the barbershop/speakeasy crossover concept, Blind Barber, is no different. Legendary beer brand Sapporo recognized this story arc and has partnered with the co-founders of the contemporary men’s barber shop and speakeasy concept, Jeff Laub and Adam Kirsch, who launched “Epic Risks, Great Rewards,” a bi-coastal 2-part summer event and video series celebrating modern day risk-takers.
The partnership was inspired by each brands’ parallel ties to risk-taking, self-guided principles and daring spirits. Born of humble beginnings, Sapporo founder and original brewmaster, Seibei Nakagawa, left Japan for Germany at the age of 17, learned the craft of brewing, and eventually starting the Sapporo beer empire. Similarly, Jeff Laub and Adam Kirsch, the founders of Blind Barber, left traditional career paths to pursue a decidedly-different approach to creative entrepreneurship.
