Shelley Hennig Biography

Shelley’s full name is Shelley Catherine Hennig. She was born in Destrehan, Louisiana on January 2, 1987. When she was young, she wanted to be a dancer and already began her dance lesson at the age of 2. But everything changed when she joined and won the Miss Teen USA 2004 pageant. This opportunity started her professional career.

While wearing the crown of Miss Teen USA, she was able to travel different cities in the world promoting non-profit organizations such as Seeds of Peace, D.A.R.E., and Sparrow Clubs. These activities played a huge role in her soon-to-be career.

One of the perks of her crown was the opportunity to guest on a TV show from NBC’s popular TV series, “Passions.” Her acting skills shined brightly during that small guesting and decided to venture Hollywood and acting after she relinquished her crown on August 2005.

Shelley won a scholarship and graduated from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York, NY. Not long after, she got the role of Stephanie Johnson on “Days of Our Lives” in 2007. During the four years in the TV series, she was nominated twice for a Daytime Emmy for “Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series” in 2010 and 2012.

And her career shows no stopping! In 2013, she starred as a regular on two popular TV series, “The Secret Circle” and “Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous.”

Just the following year, she got her first lead acting role in two horror movies, “Unfriended” and “Ouija.”

Right now, you can watch her as Malia Tate on “Teen Wolf.”
