Pisay Pao Biography

An upcoming beauty with great talents, Pisay Pao or also called “Pao-pao” is Cassandra in Z Nation, an American post-apocalyptic zombie drama television series that airs on Syfy. She plays as a young woman found at a rendezvous station near Philadelphia, secretive of her past before joining the group.

Pisay was born in a refugee camp in Thailand. Her parents escaped the civil war in Cambodia and she moved to Seattle, Washington at the age of two. She has a half-brother who lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Upon her first visit she toured both the North and South island in 9 days.

Pisay loved the arts and began painting, drawing, dancing, and performing at a young age. However, she has difficulty picking up choreography but is a naturally skilled dance. While she was still in Cambodia, she learned Cambodian ballet at age 3. Her favorite style of dance is hip hop and Odessi (from ancient India). Some of her favorite movies are Dirty Dancing and Strictly Ballroom.

She also used to compete in double dutch and track tournaments. She even learned to snowboard to impress a former boyfriend.

Pisay loves being in the water but she has fear of swimming due to a near drowning experience when she was a child.

When she reached her teen years her parents pushed her to excel academically. She obliged and earned a scholarship to attend the University of Washington. However after a year she found herself completely unhappy and instead decided to pursue a career in fashion, all the while continuing to dabble in the performing arts.

Amazingly, she was voted, “Most Likely To Change The World” by her High School Senior class, but was unemployed and undecided about her career at the time of her 10 year reunion.

When she graduated from design school she met a model/actress who would eventually introduce Pisay to her future agent. She booked her first national commercial within months of joining her first agency and continued to book more local commercials, and movies before making her move to Los Angeles.

And now, she is starting her career in America. She began as an extra in the movie “The Whole Truth”. She is now on the televisions series, Z Nation.

In Cambodian Pisay means, “beloved” and is pronounced “phee-sahy.” Because few Westerners are able to pronounce her name correctly she often introduces herself as, “pah-say.”
