Tanned beauty with a sultry voice you can’t get enough of, Jessi Malay is one amazing singer-songwriter that you can be sure excited about. Not only can she sing, she can also dance and one smart entrepreneur. She was a member of a fun girl group “No Secrets.” She described herself on Instagram as “Singer, Dancer, and Fashion Blogger.” She currently has a solo album called “Give Me Life” that was released in May 2014.

Jessi Malay was born on July 25, 1986 in Los Angeles where she also grew up. She is a wonderful mix of different cultures. Her mother is a Filipino-Spanish mix while her father is Russian and Czech, and even with a little Brazilian race on her. “I love being so multi-ethnic because I never feel like I have to conform one way of being or another…I feel like I can belong everywhere, or I can relate to everybody on some level,” she said on one interview.

Her passion for music rooted ever since she was young. She was already dancing and singing since she was two years old and but the age of eight, she was touring the world with performing groups Kidpower and Rock Theater.

Amazingly, by the age of 14, she got to sign a contract from Jive Records and becase the lead singer for the girl group, “No Secrets.” The success of the group is amazing after just the release of their first album. Their music started appearing on several shows such as “The Hot Chick,” “Jimmy Neutron,” and Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty.” Sadly, the group dissolved and Jessi went off to college at UCLA.

But since music is something that she always love to do, in just one year another opportunity arose. She was contacted and signed by David Foster to Reprise/Warner Bros. Records where she began working on her first album as a solo artist.

Having the opportunity to work with WBR, she worked with amazing artists and producers such as: JR Rotem (Destiny’s Child, Rick Ross, Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj), Andy Goldmark and Bruce Roberts (Cher, Whitney Houston, ‘N Sync, Donna Summer, Elton John), Oak (Chris Brown, JLo) and Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa).

She released her first in 2006 titled “Gimme” featuring Lil Scrappy. Just the following year, she released yet another single with Yung Joc titled “Booty Bangs” which was wonderfully received by the music industry and by choreographers and dancers alike.

However, she need to get surgery so she had to stop performing in order to recover. During that time, she also decided to return studying in UCLA to finish her studies. She graduated in year 2012 with the degree in World Arts and Cultures/Dance.

She returned back to the music industry after graduating and started recoding her first debut album and co-founded her own production company and label, “The Coalition Group.”

In an interview from adambernardblogspot.com, she was asked what she is looking for in a guy. According to her, number 1 criteria is being humble. “I can’t stand cocky guys. There’s a difference between confidence and cockiness and confidence is the second requirement,” she added.

Jessi Malay finally released her first debut album in May 2014 titled, “Give Me Life.” You can listen to nine wonderful songs featuring five music videos. She co-wrote and co-directed every song and music video on this independent release.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jessi Malay is an American singer, songwriter and entrepreneur. Jessi has had a passion for performing since the age of 2 when she first started singing and dancing. A year later, Jessi signed with Reprise/Warner Bros. Records and began work on her first album as a solo artist. While at Warner Bros., Jessi worked with some of the hottest producers in the business including: JR Rotem (Destiny’s Child, Rick Ross (Ricky Rozay), Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj), Andy Goldmark and Bruce Roberts (Cher, Whitney Houston, ‘N Sync, Donna Summer, Barbara Streisand, Elton John), Oak (Chris Brown, Rihanna, JLo) and Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa). Jessi’s first solo release was her single “Gimme”, featuring Lil Scrappy in 2006. In 2007, she released “Booty Bangs”, featuring Yung Joc, which garnered a huge following among industry choreographers and dancers alike. After tearing her ACL and taking time off to recover from knee surgery, Jessi decided to return to UCLA to finish her studies. Upon graduating in 2012, Jessi got back in the studio to record her debut album and co-founded her own production company and label, The Coalition Group.

In early 2013, Jessi released her latest single, “Bougie,” a track inspired by her first visit to New York Fashion Week and passion for fashion. She also started her own fashion blog, mywhiteT.com, which has garnered much attention from top designers and fellow bloggers alike. “Bougie” quickly gained traction in clubs and has been played on many radio stations including Sirius XM’s ‘20 on 20’ and New York’s Z100. This past summer she released the music video for “Bougie,”featuring avant garde fashion trends, sexy choreography and a live panther, produced and co-directed by The Coalition Group. Jessi is currently touring the club circuit across the country and finalizing her upcoming album with producers/writers Mika Lett (The Writer’s Camp, Macy Gray), Deep Watters (Adidas, Too Short, Mac Dre), and Whitey (Christina Milian, JoJo).
