Trump Is Center Of Attention From The Start

Trump is Center of Attention from the Start

Republican or Independent?

The first real debate between the leading Republic Presidential candidates took place last night, with Donald Trump being the man in the spot light from the first moments. When the moderator first asked if all candidates would pledge to accept defeat and not run against the Republic nomination should they lose, Mr. Trump, in true Trump fashion, was the one and only hopeful to raise his hand. Trump essentially said he wouldn’t necessarily respect the candidate who won if it wasn’t him, and wouldn’t be opposed to running independent should he not get the go ahead of the GOP. He did, however, say he would happily run as a Republican candidate should he win.

Moderator Megyn Kelly went on to question Trump and his words on the fairer sex. Quoting him calling women “pigs, scum” and other odd Trumpesk zingers. He essentially summed it up by saying sometimes he says shit, and oh well.

Why Trump’s Woman Bashing Matters

Why does the GOP care what Trump says to the ladies? With Hillary Clinton being the likely Democratic candidate, Republicans are worried on how hard Hillary will grill the woman’s rights issues, and Trump may not come off too friendly in that one. Whatever the outcome is, there are sure to be some wildly entertaining debates for the 2016 election.

And personally, Donald, I don’t think political correctness is that bad of a thing? People tend to feel better when you don’t call them weird shit. But that’s just my opinion.

It's Friday, And You're Going To Need A Drink

It's Friday, and You're Going to Need a Drink

It’s been a long, hot week, and we all need a drink. But instead of sitting your ass inside on the couch and cracking a beer, you need to get out there and enjoy the last weeks of summer before we’re all freezing again.

If you’re lucky enough to live in NYC, there are plenty of places to make that happen, and we’d like to introduce you to one of our new favorites. Talde, owned and operated by Top Chef beast and all around boss Dale Talde, has been around for some time now, but due to it’s Park Slope location gets fewer Manhattanites than it deserves. The food is outstanding, the drinks are refreshing, and seriously, it’s not that far from the F train.

For those of you who aren’t within commuting distance to the Asian fusion deliciousness, try out their tequila old fashioned recipe at home for yourself. Warning, they are ridiculously good, and you will get ridiculously drunk.

Grilled Peach Old Fashioned – by Bill Riley at TALDE

  • 0.75 oz. Carpano Antica
  • 1 slice Fresh Yellow Peach
  • 2 Italian Amarini Cherries (Luxardo)
  • 2 cube Demerara Sugar
  • 3 dashes House Citrus Bitters
  • 1 slice Fresh Grilled Peach, garnish

In a mixing glass, muddle peach, cherries, sugar and bitters. Add Reserva de la Familia and Carpano Antica and stir to combine. Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with a grilled peach slice.
